Chesapeake is one of the largest producers of natural gas in the nation and the most active driller of new wells in the U.S. Our strategy is focused on discovering, acquiring and developing conventional and unconventional natural gas and oil reserves onshore in the U.S. We have substantial operations in the Barnett Shale of north-central Texas, the Haynesville Shale of East Texas and northwestern Louisiana, the Fayetteville Shale of central Arkansas and the Marcellus Shale of the northern Appalachian Basin, the Eagle Ford Shale of southern Texas and various other plays, both conventional and unconventional in the Anadarko Basin, Arkoma Basin, Appalachian Basin, Permian Basin, Delaware Basin, Texas Gulf Coast, East Texas, and the western U.S. and Rocky Mountain basin regions. This position is based at our corporate headquarters in Oklahoma City, OK and reports to the Geological Manager. This position is responsible for assisting the geoscience team in specifying, acquiring, and evaluating geological data required in the design, drilling, completion and operation of hydrocarbon fields. -Must be currently enrolled in a higher education institution. -Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher on a 4.0 scale. -A Masters Degree in Geology or Geophysics is required. -Experience interpreting well logs, processed seismic & velocity data is needed. -Must be able to develop geologic & structural models from processed seismic data. -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as strong analytical skills. -Experience gained during education is acceptable for this entry position. -Excellent computer skills and geological software skills required.
